got up suuuper early. like 4 am to get the bus to get to st pancreas for our train.
checked in and went through security fine. sat and waited a bit to board the train.
tried to sleep on the plane and was only partially successful.
felt wrecked upon arrival into paris.
navigated our way via metro to our apartment to check in with the guy.
tried to sketch a plan for what we wanted to do. which we may or may not have really followed.
started off on a long walking adventure for the rest of the day.
walked to the eiffel tower, over to the rodin museum
where we saw fantastic art. and jt saw the ice cream truck killer from dexter. and apparently i was standing pretty much next to him on multiple occasions and managed to miss him. i also blame jt for this because he would point it out AFTER we'd move or whatever. not that i wanted him to shout it out, but he could have nudged me after the first time he mentioned it or something so that i wasn't completely clueless. to make things even more awesome and a greater laugh for jt, he even has a photo of me looking at a sculpture with the guy standing pretty much right in front of me (of which i was waiting for the guy to move and didnt realize it was him- awesome). walked back by the tower, down to the river to check out cruises, decided against it, crossed the bridge to trocadero. sat there for awhile. walked a big loop looking for food, but ended up back at trocadero without finding something suitable. crossed the bridge back, ate on a boat, and then went up the eiffel tower. was great because the sun set while on the tower and got to see it from day light and at night. my favorite is when they make the lights twinkle i think. and it is a super neat view from the top. also thought it was ridiculous that you could purchase a 15 euro cup of champagne at the top if you wanted. 15 euro for a cup. wow. needless to say, we did not partake. the elevator is clear and offers a cool, if not a bit scary, view going up and down as well. then we walked back to the apartment. exhausted.
