05 may

wednesday.

cinco de mayo.

funnily enough more celebrated in america than mexico. but we were determined.

went with Aine to meet with Nigel. made graphs while we waited (since there wasn't a clear understanding of when we were meeting). picked up Brittany along the way back across campus. Then Steph, Brittany, and I met Mary at the tube station to then meet Kendall in Leicester square to go to chiquitos. mmm margaritas and (tex)mex food. 3 courses for 9.95 was a ton of food. but good.

had to go from there to the Barclays event. it was at the Brit Oval -the big cricket stadium. i learned a few things by going to this event:
1. i still dont understand how cricket is played.
1a. they let a fox run across the field and didn't seem too concerned.
2. i'm not approaching this business idea for AA from a business perspective. my professional experience as a teacher in conferency/meeting-type situations is quite different from the business angle.
3. the americanness in me really doesnt need a tea break every hour.
4. there was a lot of truth to grant and my's strategy while working in honors at the u. tag-teaming events like that is the way to go. too bad i was by myself.

the key speaker was good. some guy who's big time in business and has been on the bbc. the question and answer portion was worthless. and the person who i really wanted/needed answers from didnt really give them to me.

i left there to go straight to reverso's gig. i wasn't going to go but got a text from rachel about it so i went. somehow i got in without paying which was a plus. it was at the pigalle club in picadilly. cool place. hung out with rachel. no one else from uni came. but their friend danny was there and mcfly and a few other people i've met. good show. had some good laughs with rachel and abner. glad i went in the end.
