class - week 3 day 1

the sociology of music and music history.

this included watching amadeus (awesome that i'm the only one who hadn't seen it, although it's very fictional so i'm not sure that it was the film that was my disadvantage. perhaps just more-so my lack of music history knowledge. i avoided that set of courses for a reason. hmm).

and then a lecture on the different viewpoints and how they conflicted and weaved in and out. and mozart and beethoven and sponsorship and creativity and genius. and it really just spiraled a bit out of control, but i *think* i have a better understanding of this topic than last week's.

apparently next week we'll have different lecturers. coming up is d. hargreaves and i'm excited for that.
