10dec: thursday

spent the morning downloading, organizing, and reading course materials and then articles from the psychologist's special issue on music psychology.

then we had a session on music therapy. very interesting as it's in the psychoanalytic model and all about improvisation. it did mean that i got to play a gankogui and boomwhackers and fun percussion instruments that i no longer use on a daily basis.

i wanted to ask her questions but she didn't really have time or offer to answer any at the end. and i didn't want to be like "the woman" in our class. so maybe at another time.

we then went into intensive study prep for our stats test as a group. until we went early over to the computer lab to continue and we all got a bit anxious. george showed up a few minutes late which was unnerving. in the end, i think i did well on the test. i hope so. danny and i seemed to agree when we were talking about it but jason was really concerned and emily and i didn't agree on whatever i asked her about. so i guess we'll see. i'd like to know how i did. first actual assessment of this course and all.

then to celebrate, danny, carlos, emily, and i had some chocolate chip pancakes.
emily, steph, and i chatted for a bit after that. it was nice to spend some time with emily and steph. i haven't hung out with steph in what seems to be like forever. hah. somewhat of a warped sense of time - but it has been like 2 weeks (other than her attendance at my concert last week).

and then i spent a bit of time looking up madrid related things as i hadn't done logistics even for this trip because i wanted to focus on the week's lessons and test prior to the trip. i still feel like it's a bad idea to go right now, but i do want to go. i'll figure it out.
